Best Way to Fold Ratchet Strap with Hook

I like the ability to hang my ratcheting straps on a shelf, clip them with a carabiner to a loop, or hook on a pegboard. It takes a little effort, but with some practice, it takes less time to wrap than to untangle when you need them. Less distracting video: ua-cam.com/vi...

    I know this all worked… for now. But there’s quite a few code violations here. And that outside outlet isn’t going to stay in place for long as the stucco is going to crumble under load from the box and swing arm clamps as things are plugged in and unplugged.

    Thanks for the review. I am currently using qc35 with ufly on the 787-9. I will be upgrading to the a30's. Having thr XLR power the system will be a game changer. In regards to the glasses. Have you tried Sereghetti drivers gradient. Non-polarized, with enough gradient to read charts. Also the arms on the glasses are so thin you don't notice them under the seal. Thanks again for the review!

      Glad you enjoyed the review! The 78 would be an awesome airplane! Yes, the power and not dealing with batteries are absolutely worth the upgrade. I haven't tried the Sereghetti, but I am liking the Ombraz: a little awkward to get on and off, but really comfortable under the earpads. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    If I'm not using smart switches, but simple old school toggle switches, then the switches will not have neutral (white) wires to connect to the cluster of other neutrals in the box, correct? Simply connect the black "line" wire coming from the breaker panel to each switch, the unique wires to each switch, and a ground wire from each switch to the cluster of grounds, correct? No, neutrals from the switches to the cluster of neutrals. Sound right?

    • @KylersStudio
      @KylersStudio 27 днів тому

      If you have an old house without neutral wires, it sounds logical that each individual switch would yes, just switch on power to each separate powered section of the light fan unit. Newer fans will have a neutral wire if you have that in your system. This is not electrical wiring advice, as I am not an electrician, but it sounds like you're on the right track to close each circuit individually with a separate switch.

    • @KylersStudio
      @KylersStudio Місяць тому

      It's really hard to determine without seeing it or enough details, but it seems like you're talking about wiring the switch. You don't want to render your wall switch useless, but you could possibly put two wires in the same place. This is not electrical wiring advice, but you could potentially make the same electric trigger from one of either source.

      It's difficult to explain exactly because there are so many different garage door openers. Stick one wire in two different sections and see if it triggers. Like I mentioned, it's low voltage, so probably not going to cause any problems, but diy at your own risk.

    • @KylersStudio
      @KylersStudio Місяць тому

      I haven't compiled an exact itemized list, but the desk is 30x60. I would estimate with just the standing desk and the channel hardware, you're looking at $1,500, the majority of that being the standing desk. All depends oh how high quality you want to get.

    • @KylersStudio
      @KylersStudio Місяць тому

      Yes but you either fiddle with it to put it away or fiddle with untangling them when you need them. Like making your bed.

  • @surferdude642
    @surferdude642 2 місяці тому

    Starting at about 10:30 you mentioned switched receptacles. While they could be different circuits, they are usually on the same circuit, especially if used for lights or something with relatively low power. Only the hot side tab is removed. If it was a separate circuit, 2 scenarios are possible. One is completely separate circuit and both tabs would be removed and you'll have 2 neutral wires and 2 hot wires. The other possibility is a multi wire branch circuit with has a shared neutral (only the hot side tab is removed) and you'll typically have red and a black wire on the hot side. Separate circuits must originate from a double pole breaker or 2 single poles tied together.

    • @KylersStudio
      @KylersStudio 2 місяці тому

      Good info. Do you know if that method is ever used anymore?

    • @surferdude642
      @surferdude642 2 місяці тому

      @@KylersStudio I think that switched receptacles on one circuit could still be commonly used in bedrooms and living rooms. Split receptacles with 2 circuits are probably somewhat obsolete in modern homes because of the requirement to have GFCI receptacles in kitchens and garages where split receptacles would previously exist. You can't split a GFCI receptacle, but you can use 2 of them to wire in a multi wire branch circuit. This method could still be used today.

    Hi there, nice review!! Question though: I am flying on the B737-NG/classic (yes yes I know) and I used to have an A20 until it got stolen. The company has A20's in the cockpit but I am still looking to own my own headset again. I never use the ANR for 2 reasons: I like to be able to hear the engines and I don't want double the energy in my ears. So, with this in mind, what is the minimum ANR setting for the proflight 2 to have the exact same sound as with the A30 without the ANR on?

      They are similar but different quality or frequency reductions. The ProFlight is extra dependent on a perfect seal so if you wanted to hear outside sound, you could easily instigate a less than perfect seal. But also, hearing loss happens with sustained frequencies for a long time and I’m sure you’ll know when an engine fails without you monitoring the audible frequencies for the hundreds of thousands miles until it happens if it ever happens. Just my opinion.

    I do the long strap as you do then use a velcro strip on it, leaving the ratchet loose. Next time I'm going to try this.

    Thanks Kyler for the step-by-step! I had the exact same scenario (stucco, wire & paper, etc.) and followed your vid without a problem. I did add some silicone to the outside box & waterproof cover (where they meet) to ensure no leaks. Now have an exterior outlet where I can plug in my low voltage lighting transformer - yippee!!!

      Glad it helped! Silicone is a good idea.

    With all fans going to DC instead AC motors, it’s my understanding that switch control for fan speed is not good for the motor, is it better to just have a dumb switch? And use the remote provided by the fan manufacturer? I’m a little lost on that part

      Of course use the power that the manufacturer designed it for. The remote by the manufacturer is just fine, but usually doesn't come with remote local or cloud control logic. For instance, if the temperature sensor in the room is above 73, turn the fan on medium, if it goes above 75, set it to high, then turn it off in four hours.

    It amazes me how many builders do not understand this. They want to use nails or screws to bear all the weight. This is fine if you just have a minimal (non-human) load that is close to the ground. But if you have a serious load with people involved, the best method is to have the members lying on top of other members so that you get maximum load bearing possible from those members. Nails and screws should only be used to hold them in place laterally (usually with some sort of "hurricane tie" bracket). This is especially important when building decks. There have been numerous deck collapses (with deaths) because the builder (usually DIY people) didn't understand this principle. I read a story about one guy who built his own deck, had people over, and the deck collapsed killing a child that was playing underneath.

      Sad lesson. Logically understanding the application of physics is paramount, especially as you say when it really matters. Thanks for watching!
